Sacred Agnes

His blood gave her eternity. It took everything else.

Agnes had no intention of living and dying as an ordinary woman.

When whispers first spread of a creature who commanded magic, grew wings in the darkness and bled black instead of red, the villagers warned her to stay away. Agnes heard something else: the promise of power no human was ever meant to possess.

Determined to uncover his secret, she ventured into the forest to find the creature’s hidden home.

But some doors should never have been opened. Some forms of power demand more than blood in return.

‘Sacred Agnes’ is an atmospheric dark fantasy short story chronicling the origin of a villain from the larger world of the Maverick Gods series.
